The Day the Earth Stood Still

I don't want to brag or boast, but after only 6 days into the 5 month-long "Cash for Clunkers" program, our government has run out of funds for it!! Over the last several days, the entire nation has been awash with the buzz and excitement that the program bought to consumers, dealerships, and manufacturers alike. Then, because they gave all the money to the "Big Three" first instead of stimulating the rest of the economy, they stimulated the wallets of the fat cats in Detroit. I can say that because my fat cats are in Japan. :) Now they stop the world from spinning by not allocating enough funds for this very effective and popular program that's actually doing something for both the economy and the environment. In my previous blog, I had mentioned that the money wouldn't last long, but who would have predicted only 6 days??

Allow me to break down the numbers for you. The billion dollars allocated for this program works out to roughly 250,000 vehicles divided by nearly 25,000 registered dealers. Folks, that is only 10 cars per dealer!

Thanks for that much-needed boost, we have now solved the economic crisis! As we speak, the guys in Washington are reconvening to dig up an additional 2 billion more in funding, which will triple the initial 1 billion and we need all the help we can get to get the Earth spinning again.
